Soft Aesthetics, Strong Values, and Midwest Roots.
Hi, I’m Abigail. Welcome to Great Lakes Sparkle.
I started this business for a simple reason: I was tired. Tired of fast fashion that falls apart after one wash, and tired of having to choose between my personal style and my politics.
I looked around and realized there was a gap. You could find “Coquette” clothes (bows, lace, romance), and you could find “Leftist” clothes (bold slogans, punk aesthetics). But I couldn’t find the intersection. Where was the gear for the girl who wants to dismantle the patriarchy, but still loves a pearl necklace? Where was the “Unionize” tee that looks cute with a silk skirt?
So, I decided to make it myself.
The Mission: Fashion as a Conversation Starter I believe that what we wear is one of the most powerful tools we have. Fashion is a language. When you wear a shirt that says “All Power to the People” or “Read Theory,” you aren’t just getting dressed—you are inviting a conversation.
My goal isn’t to be pushy; it’s to make radical ideas accessible. I want to help you display your beliefs publicly, spark questions from friends, and educate your community—all while looking incredible.
Rooted in the Midwest Great Lakes Sparkle isn’t a faceless drop-shipping operation. We are a woman-owned independent business, born and raised here in Michigan. There is a specific kind of grit and community spirit in the Midwest that influences everything I design. We believe in solidarity, we believe in paying people fairly, and we believe in making things that last.
Thank you for being here, for reading The Dispatch, and for proving that you can be soft and revolutionary at the same time.
